Fernandes to speak on urban social movements, April 15

Sujatha Fernandes will deliver a lecture titled "Urban Social Movements and the State in Venezuela: A View from the Barrios" at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 15, in Room 107 at 58 Prospect Ave.

Fernandes, a Cotsen Fellow in the Society of Fellows in the Liberal Arts and a lecturer in the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs , conducts research on mobilized publics, populist politics and marginality in Latin America.

The event is sponsored by The Progressive Review and the Program in Latin American Studies .
