Speaker to give European view of rural policies, March 23

A lecture on "The Challenges of Setting Rural Policies: A European Perspective" is set for 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, in 16 Robertson Hall.
Richard Wakeford, chief executive of the United Kingdom's Countryside Agency, will speak. He was named to that post in 1999 when the agency was established to conserve and enhance England's countryside, spread social and economic opportunity for the people who live in the countryside and improve the quality of the countryside for all citizens. He has served in several other governmental positions in the United Kingdom.
The lecture is sponsored by the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
