Conference planned on recurrent debt, March 26

World Politics, a quarterly journal of international relations, will present a conference on "The Political Economy of Recurrent Debt" beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, March 26, in 2 Robertson Hall.

Sponsored by the Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies, the conference is intended to provide a better understanding of the problem of recurrent debt, its causes and potential solutions. Scholars and experts will focus on three themes: the demand for international capital by developing countries; the regulation of the supply of that capital by both private investors and international financial organizations; and the policy implications of the lending cycle and the periodic crises associated with it.

The conference is free and open to the public. For more information, visit the institute's Web site .
