Former Japanese trade official to speak, April 26

A Princeton graduate alumnus and former Japanese trade official will present a lecture titled "Embracing Globalism Through East Asian Integration: Change in Japan's Viewpoint About Regional Free Trade Agreements" at 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 26, in 2 Robertson Hall.
Hidehiro Konno, who served for 34 years with Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, will speak. Now the chair and chief executive officer of Nippon Export and Investment Insurance, he was vice minister of the ministry when he retired in 2002. He is credited with leading Japan toward embracing free trade agreements.
Konno received his master's degree in 1974 from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs , which is sponsoring the lecture.
