Graduate student in chemistry honored

The New York section of the Society for Applied Spectroscopy has chosen Princeton graduate student Peter Tarsa for its 2004 Graduate Student Award.
Tarsa received the award for his work on the development of an ultrasensitive method for detecting trace gases and biological agents with a technique known as "cavity ring-down spectroscopy." Tarsa, who works in the lab of chemistry professor Kevin Lehmann , has multiple publications and three patent applications for his instrumentation designs.
