Cuarteto Latinoamericano to perform, April 1 and 3

Cuarteto Latinoamericano, known throughout the world for its advocacy of Mexican chamber music, will perform at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 1, in Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall. The performance will include works by major composers of Latin American classical music, including Heitor Villa-Lobos, Manuel Ponce, Silvestre Revueltas and Alberto Ginastera.

The string quartet also will present a children's concert at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 3, in Richardson. The concerts are part of a month-long Latin American culture celebration, "The Search for Xochipili," featuring a wide variety of music, the visual arts and the spoken word. The project is sponsored by Princeton University Concerts in conjunction with the University Art Museum , the Program in Latin American Studies , the Program in Creative Writing and the Friends of Music at Princeton .

Tickets are required for both Cuarteto Latinoamericano performances, although the Saturday performance is free. For more information and ticket prices on the Thursday concert, call the Richardson box office at (609) 258-5000.
