Princeton students win Fulbright grants to study abroad

Fourteen Princeton seniors have been awarded Fulbright grants to study abroad after graduation. They are: Meredith Arensman, Romania; Mary Fallon, Mexico; David Follette, Japan; Matthew Goldberg, Brazil; Hannah Haviland, Sweden; Emily Herchen, Germany; Vanessa Jackson, Russia; Hilary Kalmbach, Syria; John Kim, Japan; Chrisann Kyi, Thailand; Allynn Lodge, Spain; Jennifer Stahl, Germany; Luke Yarbrough, Egypt; and Kimberly Zaia, Sweden.

The Fulbright program was established in 1946 to demonstrate U.S. commitment to democratic values worldwide. It is sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State. The program operates in 144 countries and awards approximately 4,500 new grants each year, including funding for roughly 1,000 American students to study or conduct research abroad.
