Chef to give healthy cooking tips, Nov. 3
Posted October 29, 2004; 11:34 a.m.
Cary Neff, a noted chef who helped design the menu for the University's new Healthy Eating Lab, will give a demonstration of healthy cooking techniques at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, in the 100-level lounge in the Frist Campus Center.
Neff, author of the best-selling "Conscious Cuisine" cookbook, will be assisted by men's basketball coach Joe Scott and senior players Judson Wallace and Will Venable. The event is sponsored by the Department of Dining Services .
The Healthy Eating Lab, which replaced the Beverage Lab in Frist, offers a wide range of health-conscious lunch options, including fresh salads and sushi, grilled chicken, marinated vegetables and soups. It is open from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The location was redesigned over the summer after feedback collected by the University's Task Force on Health and Well-Being indicated that members of the campus community sought more healthy eating options and that the Beverage Lab was underused.
