'Making Waves' fund-raisers set through April 23

"Making Waves," an initiative organized by several campus groups to raise funds for areas affected by the recent Indian Ocean tsunami, will host several events on campus and in the local communities through April 23. The project involves folding origami waves representing victims of the tragedy.

Through "Making Waves," members of the campus and local communities will work together to fold 150,000 origami waves, each for a suggested donation of $1. The goal is to raise $150,000 to go to CARE USA for rebuilding communities in the affected regions.

Community House, the Frist Campus Center and the University Art Museum are among the campus venues also planning events. Campus activities are being organized by student leaders from the Global Issues Forum, Princeton Tsunami Relief, Community House, Student Volunteers Council and Cotsen Children's Library Outreach Volunteers.

More information about the initiative, including a calendar of events, is available online.
