Award-winning author to discuss work, Feb. 14

Author Ha Jin will read from his work and answer questions during a session at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, in the Stewart Film Theater, 185 Nassau St.
A professor of creative writing at Boston University, he won a National Book Award in 1999 for his novel "Waiting," which was based on his experiences during his five-year service in the Chinese army. He also has written "War Trash," "The Crazed" and other fiction and poetry and has won several additional awards.
Following the reading, he will be interviewed by Perry Link, professor of East Asian studies. This event, the Eberhard Faber Lecture, is being sponsored by the Council of the Humanities and the Department of East Asian Studies.
