Native American artists at Wilson College, April 4-8

Artist Douglas Miles will be in residence at Princeton's Wilson College from Monday through Friday, April 4-8.
Miles, the founder of Apache Skateboards, will be joined by a group of
young Native American artists and performers known as the Native Agent
Arts Collective. They will collaborate on an installation and
performance piece, "POP LIFE 2," that will premiere at 8 p.m. Friday,
April 8, in Wilcox Hall.
The Native Agent Arts Collective is made up of poets, DJs, skaters and
graffiti artists/painters from various North American tribes, such as
the Osage, Apache, Pueblo, Kiowa, Navajo, Akimel O’Otham and Seminole.
"POP LIFE 2," the performance, is as multidisciplinary as the group,
involving live graffiti, music, poetry and skateboarding.
Several related events also are scheduled:
• An exhibition of artwork by Miles, including some skateboard decks,
will be on display in Wilcox Hall throughout the week; an opening
reception is set for 5 p.m. Monday, April 4, in the Wilcox Commons.
• An open lunch with members of the collective will be held at noon
Wednesday, April 6, in the Wilson College Special Dining Room.
• The film “Smoke Signals” and a short documentary about Apache
Skateboards will be screened at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, in the
Wilson Black Box Theater. Discussion with members of the collective
will follow.
