Musica Alta to perform 'Dido and Aeneas,' May 21

Musica Alta, a student early-music ensemble, will present a concert on Saturday, May 21, in Fine Hall's Taplin Auditorium. At 7:15 p.m. music professor Wendy Heller will deliver a talk. A concert version of Henry Purcell's baroque semi-opera "Dido and Aeneas" will follow at 8 p.m.
Undergraduate and graduate students will participate in the performance, which will feature soloists, an orchestra and a chorus. Lee Escandon, a doctoral candidate in musicology, will conduct.The event is free and open to the public.
