Ceaser to present Vaughan Lecture, Oct. 6

James Ceaser, professor of politics at the University of Virginia,
will deliver the second Herbert W. Vaughan Lecture on America's
Founding Principles at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, in 104 Computer Science
Building.
He will discuss "Nature and History in the Thought of the American Founders."
Ceaser is the author of several books on American politics and
political thought, including "Presidential Selection," "Reforming the
Reforms," "Liberal Democracy and Political Science" and "Reconstructing
America." He often comments on American politics for the Voice of
America broadcasting service.
The Herbert W. Vaughan Lecture on America's Founding Principles is an
endowed Princeton University lecture hosted by the Department of
Politics. Its purpose is to promote and advance understanding of the
founding principles and core doctrines of American constitutionalism.
The inaugural Vaughan Lecturer in 2004 was Judge Michael McConnell of
the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
