Klez Dispensers to perform, Oct. 16

The Klez Dispensers, a klezmer band that includes several Princeton alumni, will present "Kleztravaganza 2!" at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, in Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall.

Two Princeton student ensembles, The Klezmocrats and a cappella group Koleinu, also will perform.

The Klez Dispensers, an eight-piece ensemble comprising clarinet, trumpet, saxophone, violin, piano, bass, drums and vocals, originated as a student group at Princeton in 1998, with founding members from Russia and Australia as well as the United States. The group now performs at events from New York to London. In 2000 the ensemble recorded its first CD, "Indispensable," and in 2004 released its latest album, "New Jersey Freylekhs."

Tickets are $15 for general admission and $5 for students and children, and are available from the Richardson ticket office at (609) 258-5000.
