Alterman to discuss media and politics, Feb. 22

Political commentator Eric Alterman will deliver a talk titled
"Conservative Media, Liberal Nation" at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22,
in 16 Robertson Hall.
Alterman is a political columnist for The Nation, professor of English
at Brooklyn College and a senior fellow at the Center for American
Progress. He is the author of several books, including: "When
Presidents Lie: A History of Official Deception and Its Consequences"
(2004); "The Book on Bush: How George W. (Mis)leads America" (with Mark
Green, 2004); and "What Liberal Media? The Truth About Bias and the
News" (2003).
Alterman is a contributor to numerous publications in the United States
and Europe and has been a columnist for Worth, Rolling Stone, Mother
Jones and The Sunday Express of London.
The lecture is sponsored by the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
