Posted March 2, 2006; 09:31 p.m.
Princeton dance
faculty members Rebecca Lazier and Meghan Durham will present new dance
choreography at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 11, in the Hagan Dance Studio,
185 Nassau St.
The free performance will offer audiences the chance to see new work
and speak directly with the choreographers during a post-performance
discussion.
Lazier will present "Serenade: My First Ballet," which uses Pytor
Tchaikovsky's score, "Serenade for Strings in C Major." Performing the
piece will be Terrain, a New York City-based dance company directed by
Lazier. Her project has been made possible with funding from the
University's Council of the Humanities and the Brown Fund.
Durham will present excerpts of her work "Appetite." The ensemble piece
will be performed by Merge Dance, a Philadelphia-based company directed
by Durham. She received support from the Philadelphia Foundation,
Philadelphia Dance Projects and the Painted Bride Art Center Artist
Access.
