Posted March 30, 2006; 10:53 p.m.
Members of the University community will be able to get a massage,
watch a Pilates demonstration and learn how to improve their golf game
all under one roof on Friday, April 7, in Dillon Gymnasium.
FitFest 2006 will bring together a wide variety of fitness and wellness activities in one place from noon to 4 p.m.
This second annual FitFest will feature interactive experiences,
demonstrations, free classes, mini-lectures, workshops and the Dick
Allen Memorial Campus Walk.
It is being coordinated by Campus Recreation
and co-sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Campus Life
and the Office of Human Resources. Other campus groups scheduled to
participate include: Dining Services; the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual,
Transgender Center; the Department of Public Safety; the Ombuds Office;
and University Health Services.
These campus offices and 20 off-campus agencies/organizations also will
host tables and provide information on fitness and wellness.
The first 500 participants who register on that day will receive a free
pedometer; the first 100 people who participate in the interactive
experiences will receive a free T-shirt.
A complete schedule is available online. For more information, contact Matt Brzycki at (609) 258-3520.
