Historian examines Army recruitment, April 11

Beth Bailey, professor of history at Temple
University, will examine the history of Army recruitment in the United
States at noon Tuesday, April 11, at 210 Dickinson Hall. She will
deliver a paper titled, "The Army in the Marketplace: Recruiting an
All-Volunteer Force."
Bailey, a historian specializing in 20th-century America, has written
several books about America's politics, culture and sexual revolution
during that time period.
This event is sponsored by the Modern American Workshop, the Department of History,
the Davis Center for Historical Studies, the Program in
African-American Studies and the Graduate School. Lunch will be
