Evangelicals and politics is talk topic, Oct. 16

Laurie Goodstein, national religion correspondent for The New York
Times, will present a lecture titled "Backlash: Are Evangelicals
Disillusioned With Politics?" at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, in 16
Robertson Hall.
Goodstein has covered a broad range of issues pertaining to the
intersection of religion and politics. She has been honored by the
American Academy of Religion, the nation's largest association of
religion scholars, for best in-depth news reporting on religion. She
also has won the Templeton Religion Reporter of the Year and the Supple
Religion Writer of the Year awards from the Religion Newswriters
Association.
Goodstein joined the Times in 1997 after eight years with The Washington Post.
The lecture is part of the "Crossroads of Religion and Politics" series sponsored by the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and the Center for the Study of Religion.
