Memorial service set for Sutton, Nov. 6

A memorial service for Barbara Sutton, associate director of
Princeton's Office of Population Research (OPR), is planned for 9 a.m.
Monday, Nov. 6, in the University Chapel.
Sutton died of cancer Nov. 1 at the University Medical Center of Princeton. She was 52.
Sutton had been in her present position since 2002 and had been the
OPR's financial administrator from 1988 to 1992. A University staff
member since 1986, she also had worked as associate grant manager in
the Department of Molecular Biology, research and information systems
administrator in the Office of Research and Project Administration, and
administrator in the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International
Affairs.
She played an active role in the University's Academic Managers Group.
In 1998 Sutton received an award from the President's Standing
Committee on the Status of Women for making a difference in the lives
of women on campus.
Survivors include her sons, Kyle Sutton of Jersey City, N.J., and
Benjamin Sutton of Hamilton, N.J.; her parents, Bernie and Esther
Raterink of Hudsonville, Mich.; her brother and sister-in-law, Michael
and Karen Raterink of Sarasota, Fla.; and her partner, Michael Seifert
of Pennington, N.J.
Friends may make a donation to a charity in Sutton's name; she was a contributor to Amnesty International.
