Heraldo Muñoz, Chile's ambassador to the United Nations, will present a talk at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 15, in 16 Robertson Hall.
Muñoz has served as Chile's permanent U.N. representative since May 2003. He also has been the country's ambassador to Brazil and to the Organization of American States, where he negotiated an agreement for its members to act multilaterally to defend democratic governments in the Americas.
Prior to becoming U.N. ambassador, Muñoz served as Chile's deputy foreign minister, negotiating the trade agreement between Chile and the European Union, and as the government's official spokesman.
The talk is sponsored by the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and the Program in Latin American Studies.
