The Princeton University Players will present Adam Guettel's "Myths and Hymns" at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, April 19-20, in the Frist Campus Center Film and Performance Theater.
The theatrical song cycle by Guettel, who won a Tony Award in 2005 for "The Light in the Piazza," takes the audience on a reflective, one-year journey around the sun. Setting to music the mythological stories of the Greek gods, "Myths and Hymns" combines lyrics from Presbyterian hymns and genres of music including Latin, gospel, jazz, electronica and ballads.
The University student production is directed by senior Ronee Penoi. Tickets are $12 for general admission, $10 for faculty, staff and senior citizens, and $8 for students. They can be purchased online through University Ticketing or by calling (609) 258-1742.
