NATO military official to speak, Dec. 13

Lt. Gen. Karl Eikenberry, the former commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan and a current NATO military official, will speak on "NATO: Afghanistan, Kosovo and the Alliance's Future" at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, in Dodds Auditorium, Robertson Hall.
Eikenberry assumed command of U.S. forces in May 2005 and stepped down in January 2007 to assume his current role as deputy chairman of the NATO Military Committee in Brussels, Belgium.
Eikenberry has served in numerous operational posts and various strategy, policy and political-military positions with the U.S. Army in the United States, Europe and Asia.
The Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and the Liechtenstein Institute on Self Determination are sponsoring the lecture.
