Scholars to discuss writing in the arts

Five distinguished scholars from universities in Europe and the United States will lead sessions addressing various theoretical, historical and technical questions raised by forms of writing in the arts at a symposium on Friday, Feb. 15, in 106 McCormick.
The event, titled "Notations: Writing in the Arts," will cover topics including architecture, painting, music, dance and poetry. Sessions will run from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Speaking will be: Mario Carpo of Yale University/ Ecole d'Architecture de Paris-La Villette; Thomas Schestag of Johns Hopkins University; André Lepecki of New York University; Agathe Sultan of the Université de Bordeaux; and Peter Szendy of the Université de Paris X.
The symposium, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Gauss Seminars in Criticism.
