Hi, we're Triple 8 Dance Company, Princeton University's East Asian Dance Troupe.

Belinda Zhao:
We're devoted to the art and performance of contemporary and traditional East Asia.

Belinda Zhao:
Because East Asia is so diverse and complex, our repertoire ranges from the very traditional to the very modern.

Antti-Pekka Hynninen:
I think it's our variety that makes us so unique in the campus dance scene.

Antti-Pekka Hynninen:
We're a pretty new group, and people often come up and ask, "Well, what does Triple 8 do?" And we answer, "Everything!"

Antti-Pekka Hynninen:
We really strive to show the Princeton community what East Asian culture is all about, and that can mean both fan dancing and break dancing.

Mengxi "CC" Ouyang:
We have a lot of fun in Triple 8. At Princeton, there're so many options and opportunities.

Mengxi "CC" Ouyang:
But I took on Triple 8 not only for the dancing, but also its camaraderie. When our group first started four years ago,

Mengxi "CC" Ouyang:
Triple 8 was just a bunch of students who wanted to get together, have fun in the dance studio,

Mengxi "CC" Ouyang:
and show off some cool moves at a few guest performances.

Paula Chow:
I love Triple 8. In one dance, they would be rocking, exciting, and then in another one, they would be serene and measured.

Paula Chow:
And this really embodies the 21st century's Asia and the Asians.

Rebecca Lee:
Triple 8 has grown quite explosively in the past two years, but we've still managed to kept the cohesive group spirit.

Rebecca Lee:
The great thing about having a big company now is that we are able to be a lot more creative with our pieces

Rebecca Lee:
because East Asian dance really is best showcased with that large stage presence now.

Rebecca Lee:
What I think about having this increase in interest is that what we're offering the Princeton community is definitely very attractive.

Rebecca Lee:
That is, we're offering fun, cross-cultural exchange, and really innovative and unique performances.
