Event celebrates Mideast poetry, culture

Faculty and students will celebrate Hebrew, Arabic, Turkish and Persian poetry and culture in an event titled "From Jerusalem With Love" at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, in 202 Jones Hall.
The introductions and readings will be conducted by the following: for Hebrew, English professor Esther Schor and junior Isaiah Soval-Levine; for Arabic, lecturer in Near Eastern studies Hebatalla Elkhateeb-Musharraf and junior Joy Karugu; for Turkish, lecturer in public and international affairs Robert Finn and sophomore Efe Balikcioglu; and for Persian, lecturer in Near Eastern studies Susan Moinfar-Yazdi and Balikcioglu.
The Department of Near Eastern Studies is sponsoring the Sallam-Shalom event, with Middle Eastern vegetarian and kosher food catered by the Center for Jewish Life.
