Press kit for supernova discovery now available

The press kit containing images and press releases related to Princeton scientist Alicia Soderberg and her colleagues becoming the first astronomers to witness the explosion of a star is now available online.

A live press teleconference was held today with NASA scientists in conjunction with the publication of Soderberg's research paper in the May 22 issue of Nature. A recording of the press event is available for a limited time.

To view the press kit, which also includes an animation simulating the supernova and releases representing the institutions of collaborating scientists, go to: http://www.princeton.edu/presskits/astro/.

For news media who were unable to participate in the earlier teleconference, a digitized recording will be available from 2 p.m. EDT today, Wednesday, May 21, until 11:59 p.m. EDT Friday, May 23, by calling:
