Nine Princeton performing arts groups will present a show Friday and Saturday, Sept. 26-27, to raise funds for an international nonprofit microfinance organization.
The performance, titled "''Princeton 5,000 for 5,000: Princeton Performs for Change" is set for 7 p.m. in the Frist Campus Center theater. It will feature Sympoh, BodyHype, eXpressions, Capoeira, Naacho, Tigerlilies, Nassoons, Black Arts Company-Dance and Raks Odalisque.
The goal is to raise $5,000 from about 5,000 people at Princeton in order to create a village bank through FINCA, an international nonprofit microfinance organization, in order to encourage investment and economic growth in the developing world.
All technical and crew members for the show are volunteers, so that all ticket proceeds can go directly to the fundraiser.
Tickets are $7 and are on sale at the Frist ticket office or online through University Ticketing.
The event is sponsored by the newly formed Princeton Microfinance Organization.
