Princeton Chinese Theatre, a student group dedicated to performing Chinese plays in Chinese, is set to perform "Thunderstorm," a classic of modern Chinese drama, Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 26-28.
The shows are at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday in the Frist Campus Center theater.
The play by Cao Yu, condensed from four hours to two and a half hours, centers on one family’s psychological and physical destruction as a result of incest, as perpetrated at the hands of its morally depraved and corrupt patriarch. Directed by freshman Xiaoyang Long, the show will be performed in Chinese with comprehensive English program notes.
Tickets are free with Tiger Tickets marked "Student Events Eligible," $6 with a Princeton University ID and $10 for others. They may be purchased online through University Ticketing or through the Frist Campus Center ticket office in person or by calling (609) 258-1742.
