Lecture explores effect of climate change on wine industry

Earth scientist and certified sommelier Antonio Busalacchi will present a lecture on "The Impact of Climate Change on Global Viticulture" at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, in McCosh 10.
Busalacchi, a professor of atmospheric and ocean sciences at the University of Maryland, lectures nationally and internationally on the subject of climate change and wine. A member of the Society of Wine Educators, he also teaches wine appreciation classes and participates in technical tastings.
Busalacchi is the founding director of the Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center at the University of Maryland, which conducts studies of the interaction between the physical climate system and biogeochemical cycles. His research focuses on the role of the ocean in climate variability and the interaction between the atmosphere, ocean, land and biosphere components of the Earth.
The lecture is sponsored by the University Public Lecture Series' Louis Clark Vanuxem Fund, the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Princeton Environmental Institute.
