Mitch Frank:
When I actually read the script, what really excited me
Mitch Frank:
about it was the mixture of humor and pathos.
Mitch Frank:
It's filled with characters who are very able to step back and
Mitch Frank:
look at themselves and poke a little fun at themselves,
Mitch Frank:
but if the whole play was like that, it wouldn't be super-fun.
Mitch Frank:
What makes it super-fun is that they only do that after a five-
Mitch Frank:
or 10-minute scene that's really deeply about love,
Mitch Frank:
or the good and bad parts of a relationship.
Mitch Frank:
So, I really like that balance that it strikes.
Aaron Strand:
I play Gay Easterbrook, who is a successful playwright
Aaron Strand:
of the 1930s, and he is being fought over by
Aaron Strand:
two women: one actress and one socialite of New York in the 1930s.
Tyler Crosby:
I play Filo Smith.
Tyler Crosby:
He is a middle-aged, crotchety old man -- definitely
Tyler Crosby:
of the high society the world exists in.
Tyler Crosby:
The description of him in the script is that he is no longer
Tyler Crosby:
agitated by anything because he has made his major decisions in
Tyler Crosby:
life -- which is really tough for me to
Tyler Crosby:
play right now, because I haven't made any decisions.
Ariel Sibert:
What we're doing right now is
Ariel Sibert:
we're going to the speech accent archive and they have
Ariel Sibert:
"ga," "go," but the vowel is important so
Ariel Sibert:
it's "g-o" and a little "u" deal,
Ariel Sibert:
whatever that is.
Ariel Sibert as Clementine:
Raving mad, just raving, and guess why.
Ariel Sibert as Clementine:
Because he can't find his passport.
Ariel Sibert as Clementine:
And guess why he can't find his passport? 'Cause I stole it,
Ariel Sibert as Clementine:
and I gots it right here.
Laura Hankin:
Clementine give me that passport.
Tyler Crosby:
One unique challenge is that we work on average, I would say,
Tyler Crosby:
about 13 hours a day.
Tyler Crosby:
And I would say when we're not working we're eating breakfast,
Tyler Crosby:
eating lunch, or eating dinner or sleeping.
Tyler Crosby:
It's very cool to be able to move from play to play and see
Tyler Crosby:
the ranges of your fellow actors and try to stretch your own range as well.
Aaron Strand:
The most rewarding thing is the
Aaron Strand:
deep sense of camaraderie that is established within the group
Aaron Strand:
because putting up theater is not an easy thing to do.
Aaron Strand:
But undoubtedly, there is a huge communal sense
Aaron Strand:
of accomplishment and when that is magnified and channeled
Aaron Strand:
through an audience that's applauding the art you have
Aaron Strand:
created, there's no better "thank you" needed.
