Rigolot to be honored by Renaissance Society

Francois Rigolot, Princeton's Meredith Howland Pyne Professor of French Literature, will receive the 2011 Paul Oskar Kristeller Lifetime Achievement Award from the Renaissance Society of America.

The award honors "a lifetime of uncompromising devotion to the highest standard of scholarship accompanied by outstanding achievement in Renaissance studies," according to the citation. Rigolot, who has taught at Princeton since 1974, is the author of a dozen books on early modern French literature and culture. He teaches courses on Renaissance poetry, French literature and travel writing.

The prize will be awarded at the Renaissance Society's annual meeting, to be held in March 2011 in Montreal.
