Wilcove to read from book on animal migration

Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, 4:30 p.m. 138 Lewis Library

David Wilcove, a Princeton professor of ecology and evolutionary biology and public affairs, will read from his book "No Way Home: The Decline of the World's Great Animal Migrations" at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, in 138 Lewis Library.

Wilcove's book tracks the changing migration patterns of animals -- from fish to insects to mammals -- whose habitats have been damaged by human activities and climate change.

After receiving his Ph.D. from Princeton in 1985, Wilcove worked at several environmental nonprofit organizations including the Nature Conservancy and the Environmental Defense Fund, where he developed strategies to protect endangered species. Wilcove returned to Princeton in 2001.

The talk is sponsored by the Princeton University Library.
