University remains closed for non-critical staff; classes canceled--UPDATE 2:45 p.m.

Due to the snow storm, the Princeton University campus will remain closed for non-critical staff after 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10. Critical and essential services employees must still report to work at their normal duty times. Academic classes remain canceled for the entire day.

The University currently plans to resume normal operations at 4 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11. The University will continue to monitor weather conditions and weather-related updates will be posted after 5:45 a.m. Thursday on the University home page and on the University's emergency weather hotline, (609) 258-SNOW. 

A definition of critical services employees is available on the Office of Human Resources' emergency weather policy.

Students, faculty and staff are advised to check the Princeton home page or call (609) 258-SNOW for campus opening and closing information.

In addition, the University maintains an Emergency Preparedness website. The environmental health and safety and facilities offices have published a list of tips on pedestrian safety during the winter.

The National Weather Service provides weather updates for central New Jersey on its website. In addition, the New Jersey Red Cross offers winter storm preparation and safety tips online.
