Vehicle entrance to close at 4 p.m. weekdays

Beginning Monday, June 7, the gate at Princeton University's Nassau Street entrance to campus will be closed to vehicle traffic two hours earlier during the week, remaining open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Department of Public Safety has permanently revised the access schedule based on a motor-vehicle traffic study. The gate will continue to be closed on weekends. The guard booth is staffed during the same hours that the gate is open.

The main campus entrance for vehicles on Elm Drive off Faculty Road will continue to be open and staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Department of Public Safety will continue to work closely with Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall to provide staffing at the Nassau Street gate on weeknights when there are events nearby at Richardson. Also, access always will be provided to emergency vehicles.
