Bulletin moves to monthly schedule

The Princeton University Bulletin will move to a monthly publication schedule beginning in September, for a total of 10 issues during the 2010-11 academic year.

The first issue for 2010-11 will be published Sept. 20, and the Bulletin will be published around the middle of each month through the June 13 issue. A full publication schedule, which includes deadlines for submissions, is available on the Bulletin website.

The reduction in publication of the University's official newspaper is part of continuing cost-savings and sustainability efforts across campus. In 2009-10, the Bulletin shifted to a biweekly publishing schedule during the academic year, for a total of 15 issues. Prior to that, the paper was known as the Princeton Weekly Bulletin and published weekly during the academic year.

The Bulletin, an eight-page newspaper, includes news and feature stories about Princeton faculty, staff and students, as well as notices of selected upcoming events on campus. The Bulletin includes many of the news and feature stories found on the Princeton home page, which is updated regularly and is the primary source for news about the University.

Campus community members may use the online submission form to offer event notices for consideration for publication in the "Nassau notes" section of the Bulletin, as well as on the University home page. Event sponsors also are encouraged to post their notices on the University's Public Events Calendar. In addition to a link to the Public Events Calendar, the Bulletin features links to online calendars hosted by various University departments, programs and offices.

The Bulletin is delivered to faculty and staff members, including retirees, at their homes free of charge. Copies also are distributed around campus. Faculty and staff members who wish to opt out of home delivery of the Bulletin -- as well as manage their subscriptions to other campus publications -- may visit the University's online subscription management Web page.

The new rate for paid subscriptions to the Bulletin is $10 for the academic year. Anyone may subscribe by sending a check payable to Princeton University to Office of Communications, 22 Chambers St., Suite 201, Princeton, NJ 08542.
