Changes affect Nassau Street vehicle entrance

Princeton University's Nassau Street entrance to campus has reopened to vehicle traffic following the completion of safety enhancements to the gate.

The Nassau Street entrance is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the week and closed on weekends. The enhancements enable the gate to open and close automatically for those leaving the campus after 4 p.m.

The main campus entrance for vehicles on Elm Drive off Faculty Road will continue to be open and staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Beginning Monday, June 7, the gate at Princeton University's Nassau Street entrance to campus will be closed to vehicle traffic two hours earlier during the week, remaining open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Nassau Street entrance closed at 6 p.m. weekdays .

The gate on the Nassau Street entrance to campus for vehicles now will be closed and the guard booth will not be staffed starting at 6 instead of 8 each weekday evening as a cost-savings measure.

Faculty Road closed; drivers should plan alternate route—UPDATED 4:20 p.m .

Faculty Road on campus between Elm Drive and FitzRandolph Road continues to be closed Monday, Jan. 25, because of fallen electrical wires. Vehicles leaving campus may exit via the Elm Drive circle off Faculty Road and travel west toward Alexander Street. Vehicles parked in Lot 21 should exit the lot via FitzRandolph Road.

2:10 P.M. AUG. 29 UPDATE - University CLOSED MONDAY for non-essential staff following Hurricane Irene .

This update to previous announcements about Princeton's campus safety following Hurricane Irene contains new information related to road closures and traffic conditions. Because of power outages and road closures in the wake of Hurricane Irene, Princeton University will be closed except for critical and essential staff on Monday, Aug. 29.

Partial Faculty Road closure July 11-16 will affect traffic, Dinky service .

Beginning this week, construction on Faculty Road by NJ TRANSIT will affect traffic patterns and Dinky service. From 5 a.m. Friday, July 11, through the evening rush hour Wednesday, July 16, Faculty Road will be closed from Alexander Street to Elm Drive due to the construction of grade crossing improvements and road and sidewalk improvements.

11:45 A.M. AUG. 30 UPDATE - Road closures from Hurricane Irene continue to change .

Because of power outages and flooding following Hurricane Irene, roads throughout the area continue to experience periodic closures. Several key roads that lead to the campus are now open, but temporary closures have continued to change throughout the morning as PSE&G performs utility work. As of 11:45 a.m., Aug. 30, the following roads were closed: Harrison Street at the D&R Canal; Route 206 south of Princeton, from Hutchinson Drive to Lovers Lane; Route 206 north of Princeton, from Ewing Street to Herrontown Road in Princeton Township; and Quaker Road.
