Funeral planned for student Khristin Kyllo

A funeral for Princeton freshman Khristin Kyllo will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, in her hometown of Vienna, Va. Kyllo died Jan. 13 in her Forbes College dorm room of natural causes.
The funeral will take place at the Vienna Presbyterian Church, 124 Park St., NE, Vienna, Va. The University has arranged for a bus to travel to the funeral, leaving at 8 a.m. Saturday from Baker Rink and returning to campus after the service. In order to reserve a seat on the bus, students should sign up at the Forbes College Office by end of day Wednesday, Jan. 19. Attendees of the funeral are being encouraged to wear something purple, Kyllo's favorite color.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Khristin Kyllo '14 Memorial Fund, Princeton University, Alumni and Donor Records, P.O. Box 5357, Princeton, NJ 08540. Gifts should be made payable to the Trustees of Princeton University, with Kyllo's name noted in the memo line. A scholarship fund also is planned to be established in Kyllo's name at James Madison High School in Vienna.
Kyllo, who was a member of the University's softball team, is survived by her parents, Thomas Kyllo and Julie Kyllo, and her younger brother, Tommy Kyllo.
A gathering of remembrance for Kyllo was held on campus Jan. 13.
Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) continue to be made available to students. The University offers a full range of student support services, and students who would like to speak with counselors are encouraged to call (609) 258-3285 to reach a counselor. University Health Services is open 24 hours daily, and clinicians at CPS are available from 8:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. After hours and on weekends, a counselor is available on call to respond to urgent needs and can be reached by calling (609) 258-3139. Pastoral counseling also is available through the Office of Religious Life.
