A slideshow captures the many events that took place on campus leading up to and including Princeton's 264th Commencement, held May 31. Here, Neia Sue Ellen de Prata Menezes, one of the 1,206 undergraduate students to graduate, proudly displays her diploma, having earned a bachelor's degree in ecology and evolutionary biology. At Commencement, 815 graduate students also earned advanced degrees.

Slideshow: Aim high and be bold!

Graduation activities marked the conclusion of students' time at Princeton, but as President Shirley M. Tilghman said in her May 31 Commencement address, "As you walk, skip or run through the FitzRandolph Gates today, as educated citizens of this and many other nations, I hope you will carry forward the spirit of Princeton and all that it has sought to teach you… [and] aim high and be bold!"

This slideshow highlights the variety of events surrounding Commencement. It shows celebrations of student and alumni accomplishments; class gatherings and theatrical performances; the Baccalaureate service, the Lavender, Pan-African and Latino graduations; and the Hooding ceremony for advanced-degree candidates. The graduating seniors hailed their Class Day speaker, actress and 1987 alumna Brooke Shields, by making her an honorary member of the class of 2011. Those receiving honorary degrees at the Commencement ceremony included baseball Hall-of-Famer Henry "Hank" Aaron.

Additional photographs from selected graduation ceremonies are available.
