FACULTY AWARD: Deaton to receive BBVA Foundation Frontiers of Knowledge Award

Angus Deaton, Princeton's Dwight D. Eisenhower Professor of International Affairs and professor of economics and international affairs in the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, has been selected to receive the BBVA Foundation Frontiers of Knowledge Award in the category of Economics, Finance and Management. Deaton was cited for his "fundamental contributions to the theory of consumption, savings and measurement of economic wellbeing" and for developing the benchmark methodology for measuring poverty. The Frontiers of Knowledge Award seeks to recognize and encourage world-class research and artistic creation, and Deaton will be presented with the award at a ceremony June 21 in Madrid.
