This video features three professors. Julian Zelizer, a professor of history and public affairs and an oft-quoted political commentator, describes how his interactions with students help drive and even shape his own research. Emily Carter, the Gerhard R. Andlinger Professor in Energy and the Environment, shares how her interest in sustaining the Earth's resources shifted her research emphasis. Carter says the emerging field of sustainability has opened a world of opportunities for undergraduates. Jeff Nunokawa, a popular professor of English and a residential college master, says his days are enriched by the conversations he has with students in the Rockefeller College dining hall and the after-hours virtual discussions he has with his students on Facebook.
