Faculty approves changes in academic calendar beginning fall 2013
Changes in the academic calendar that set the first day of fall semester classes on the second Wednesday of September were approved at the April 1 faculty meeting.
The change in the first day of classes, which was previously scheduled on the second Thursday, also means that the Thanksgiving break has been extended by one day and will begin the day before Thanksgiving.
The changes will take effect in September 2013; classes for the fall semester of the 2013-14 academic year will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 11. Thanksgiving recess will begin after the last class on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
The updated academic calendar is available online.
