[CROWD CHEERING]

BEN BERNANKE: Life is amazingly
unpredictable.

Any 22-year-old who thinks they
know where they will be

in 10 years, much less in
30, is simply lacking in

imagination.

DAVID REMNICK: I ended up
majoring in comparative

literature, what my
father insisted on

calling fancy English.

[LAUGHING]

DAVID REMNICK: My mother,
anticipating a doctor or a

lawyer in the family,
announced in her

disappointment that I would now
surely be able to open a

comparative literature store.

AMAN SINHA: As the author T.H.
White once said, "Education is

experience.

And the essence of experience
is self-reliance."

SHIRLEY M. TILGHMAN: As you
pass proudly through the

FitzRandolph Gates today, as
citizens of this and many

other nations, I hope you will
carry forward the spirit of

Princeton and make use
of the education you

have acquired here.

And as I have instructed
graduates for the last 12

years, I fully expect
you to do as you

have done in Princeton.

To aim high and be bold.

My warmest wishes
go with you all.
