Senior Sean Drohan will appear in the title role in the Henrik Ibsen classic drama "Hedda Gabler" at 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday, Jan. 10-12, in the Matthews Acting Studio, 185 Nassau St. There will be one matinee at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11. The production serves as Drohan's senior thesis for a certificate in theater. Playing Hedda, sometimes called "the female Hamlet," Drohan explores gender issues related to the character. The Saturday matinee will be followed at 4 p.m. with a talkback about issues of mixed-gender casting and performing gender with Drohan, popular drag performer Hedda Lettuce and Jill Dolan, the Annan Profesor of English and director of the Program in Gender and Sexuality Studies.
