Princeton University Opera to present Monteverdi opera

Friday and Saturday, Jan. 10-11, 2014, 7:30 p.m. · Alexander Hall, Richardson Auditorium

Princeton University Opera will present a production of Claudio Monteverdi's "The Coronation of Poppea" at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Jan. 10-11, in Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall. The production will feature senior Katie Buzard, soprano, and junior Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen, countertenor. The conductor is Michael Pratt and the director is Ethan Heard, a lecturer in music. The opera will be performed in English and takes place in conjunction with an interdisciplinary conference "Venice and Ritual" organized by Wendy Heller, professor of music and director of the Program in Italian Studies. Tickets are free for students and $10 for the general public and are available online or by calling 609-258-9220.
