Ice skating available on Lake Carnegie

Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, daylight hours Lake Carnegie

The recent run of cold weather has resulted in Lake Carnegie freezing over and being available for ice skating for the first time since 2009. Members of the University and local communities are invited to take advantage of the five-plus inches of ice.

Skating is allowed during daylight hours between the bridges on Washington Road and Harrison Street. It is permitted at one's own risk only when the white flags are flying from the poles at the boathouse near the Washington Road Bridge and at the Harrison Street bridge. Red flags mean that the ice is not safe.

Ice condition reports are available on the Princeton Recreation Department information hotline at 609-688-2054.
