Film scholar Rogers to speak on special effects

Ariel Rogers, an assistant professor of film studies at the University of Southern Maine, will give a talk "Special Effects and the Apparatus in Hollywood Cinema of the 1930s-40s" at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 17, in the Stewart Theater, 185 Nassau St. The event is part of the Lewis Center for the Arts' "4 the Love of Film" spring lecture series.
