University has issued West Africa travel advisory

Following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) recent travel advisory for Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone due to the ongoing Ebola outbreak, Princeton University will not support undergraduate or graduate student travel to these three countries. Faculty and staff planning to travel to Guinea, Liberia or Sierra Leone are strongly encouraged to contact Employee Health Services prior to travel.

The CDC has issued a warning to avoid nonessential travel to Guinea, Liberia or Sierra Leone, while the World Health Organization has declared the Ebola outbreak in West Africa an official Public Health Emergency of International Concern.

In addition, all students, faculty or staff who have already traveled within the past month to Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone or Nigeria should contact Travel Medicine Services or Employee Health Services by phone or email prior to returning to campus. Students, faculty and staff who have been to Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone or Nigeria and develop a fever within a month of travel should immediately call University Health Services at 609-258-3141 for students and 609-258-5035 for employees.
