Dalai Lama tickets for members of public available online Tuesday evening

Tickets for the general public to attend a lecture on the Princeton campus next month by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama will be available on a first-come, first-served basis Tuesday evening through online registration.

The Dalai Lama will give a public talk, "Develop the Heart," at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 28 at Jadwin Gymnasium. As a scholar and a monk, the Dalai Lama will highlight the importance of developing compassion and kindness, alongside the intellect, in an academic environment.

Tickets have been distributed to Princeton students, faculty and staff. Members of the public wishing to register for a ticket should go to www.regonline.com/developtheheart at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, and enter their name, address and a telephone number.

Because of the high demand for tickets, registration is for a single ticket only.

Those who register must show identification and pick up the ticket no later than Wednesday, Oct. 1, at the Office of Community and Regional Affairs, 4 Mercer St., Princeton. That office is open weekdays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In the event that a further allotment of tickets becomes available, the University will post an announcement on its Dalai Lama website on Oct. 15.

The University will carry on its homepage a live, streaming broadcast of the Dalai Lama's talk as it happens.

The visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama is co-sponsored by the Office of Religious Life at Princeton and The Kalmyk Three Jewels Foundation.
