FACULTY AWARD: Fore wins the Modern Language Association's Scaglione Prize

Devin Fore, an associate professor of German, has been awarded the Aldo and Jeanne Scaglione Prize from the Modern Language Association for his book "Realism After Modernism: The Rehumanization of Art and Literature." The award committee's citation stated that the book "opens important new avenues in German studies and beyond." The prize is awarded biennially for an outstanding scholarly work on the linguistics or literature of the Germanic languages. Fore will accept the award on Jan. 10 during the association's annual convention in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Theodore Ziolkowski, renowned scholar of German and European literature and ‘one of the true giants of the Princeton faculty’ dies at 88 .

Theodore "Ted" Ziolkowski, former dean of Princeton's Graduate School, the Class of 1900 Professor of Modern Languages, Emeritus, and professor of Germanic languages and literatures and comparative literature, died Dec. 5, 2020. He was 88.

Gallo to receive MLA book award .

A book by Rubén Gallo, assistant professor of Spanish and Portuguese languages and cultures at Princeton, has been chosen for the Modern Language Association's Katherine Singer Kovacs Prize. 

FACULTY AWARD: Billings wins the Charles J. Goodwin Award of Merit in classics .

Joshua Billings, assistant professor of classics, has been awarded the Charles J. Goodwin Award of Merit for his book "Genealogy of the Tragic: Greek Tragedy and German Philosophy" (Princeton University Press, 2014).

UPDATE: Princeton senior Robertson awarded Rhodes Scholarship .

Princeton University senior Aaron Robertson has been awarded a Rhodes Scholarship for graduate study at the University of Oxford. He is among the 32 American recipients of the prestigious fellowships, which fund two to three years of graduate study at Oxford.
